Dance Accepts Me - De Villa

Dancing has been my passion since I was six years old, helping me build confidence, especially when I struggled with how I felt about my body. But sometimes, people’s words, like "ang payat mo na sumasayaw ka pa," can be hurtful and make me doubt myself. It’s tough when those words come from family or when they don’t show up to support me at performances, but I’ve also been understanding of their struggles, especially with managing their time.

Even though I’ve participated in many competitions without winning, I’ve never lost sight of the joy dancing brings me. I pushed through and embraced the experiences, focusing on growth rather than just victory. The pandemic took a toll, and I lost my motivation for a while due to laziness and other personal challenges, but studying at PCC reignited that spark. Now, I’m proudly showing every PCCian and everyone around me the talent I’ve always had within.

My journey is proof of my passion and perseverance. I’ve been resilient, continuing to dance not just for validation but because it’s a part of who I am. Let the criticisms fuel my drive, and I’ll keep showing the world my talent—it’s my love for the art that truly matters.

Sober Thoughts - Ramirez

When I drink, I tend to go all in. Before I know it, I’ve had one too many. That’s when things start to spiral—my thoughts and emotions just spill out, raw and unfiltered. I say things I’d never dare to when I’m sober, things I’ve been holding onto for far too long. The truth is, even when I’m sober, those thoughts are still there.

I hate that it takes a few drinks for me to say what I really feel. All the feelings untold. It’s like the alcohol gives me permission to let it all out, but it’s not the drink talking—it’s me.

Rhythm of My Soul - Reyes

Ever since I was very young, I’ve always been full of energy, constantly moving and dancing around wherever I could. As I grew older, I realized that dancing wasn’t just something I enjoyed, it was something I loved deeply. Whether it’s the grace and discipline of ballet, the sharp and expressive moves of hip hop, or exploring other styles like contemporary, dancing has always been my way of expressing emotions and creativity in ways words never could. Each dance brings a unique challenge, and I love how it allows me to connect with music, emotions, and even people in such a powerful way. To this day, I continue to cherish my passion for dance, finding joy in every step and rhythm. Sharing my talent with others, whether through performances or casual moments, brings me fulfillment, and hearing people compliment my dancing only fuels my motivation to keep improving. It’s a reminder that I have something special to offer, and it inspires me to keep going, continuously showing my love for dance through every move I make.

From Notes to Peace - Oliva

Playing the piano has been one of my favorite hobbies. It all started when I saw someone play in public. I was instantly hooked by how effortlessly the music flowed, and that moment sparked my love for the instrument. Now, playing the piano is more than just about learning new things, like improving my focus or deepening my understanding of music—it’s also my way of clearing my head. Whenever life feels chaotic, playing the piano brings me a sense of calm and helps me refocus. It’s the perfect blend of learning and unwinding for me.

My World Full of Spectrum - Cruz

Painting has been one of my hobbies since I was a child. When I was 7 years old, my parents had taught me how to make art—specifically, drawing. I’ve been drawing different kinds of cartoons, buildings, or anything that I can see. However, since the pandemic happened, I’ve been interested in painting. I started painting small pieces of cartoon characters and scenery. I painted almost every day, and it was the most wonderful day of my life. Moreover, in the year 2022, I decided to open my commission for paintings. At first, it was hard to get clients, but thankfully, some people commissioned me and made their wishes come true. 2022 & 2023, people have bought my paintings; one of my paintings is displayed on an agency company, and another painting was shipped to the United States that was bought as a gift. I’m really thankful and happy for the people who trust me and the talent that I have today. Furthermore, painting has saved my life in many ways—I can express my thoughts and feelings through painting, and it can heal a part of me. Follow my art account on Instagram: @vae.bee_

Escape from Reality - Torres

I started reading books as my hobby when i was grade 10, through curiosity it leads me to a whole new world that helped me in a lot of ways. Reading helps me extend my knowledge and stimulates my imagination. Reading also helps me enhance my vocabulary and language skills that allows me to communicate better. And through reading it allows me to learn a lot of life lessons that helps me feel motivated and inspired.

Reading books with different genre can help me foster my critical thinking, and through reading it can help you escape the reality and focus on things that can get my mind off of stressful situations. I love reading a book that has a romance genre because this usually focus on reality of what love really is, it also focuses on deeper affection and emotion that you feel to someone. Romance genre usually helps me to grow more and show how love can change me.
